Sofia Bapna

Sofia Bapna is an Assistant professor in the Information and Decision Sciences Department at the Carlson School of Management.  She holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering, an MBA, and a PhD in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. Bapna’s research lies at the intersection of digital platforms, gender gaps, and entrepreneurship. Her work has been published in Management Science and the MIS Quarterly, featured in Forbes, and funded by the Kauffman Foundation.

She investigates the strategies used by entrepreneurial ventures in digital contexts such as equity crowdfunding. She also examines questions related to gender gaps in fields where women are a minority, for example, entrepreneurship and IT.
