Professor and Director, University of Minnesota School of Statistics
Galn Jones is Professor and Director of the School of Statistics. His research interests include computational statistics, especially simulation-based inference such as Markov chain Monte Carlo, formal (objective) Bayesian methods, likelihood-based inference, statistical neuroimaging and other applications, in biological, environmental, or physical settings. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Physics in 1996 followed by a Ph.D. in Statistics in 2001 from the University of Florida. Jones is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association.
